Minor in Computing
To claim a Minor in Computing, different schemes are available depending on the admitted year of a student. The following tables illustrate the details of the schemes.
New scheme available to students admitted in all years
Basic Modules
At least 2 modules from the following:
- COM1101/MSIM1201 Programming Methodology or COM2005 Introduction to Computer Programming
- COM1102 Programming and Data Structures (PR: COM1101/MSIM1201/COM2005)
- COM1103 Computer System
- COM2103 Database Design and Management (PR:COM1101/MSIM1201/COM2005
Advanced Modules
At least 3 modules from the following:
- COM3101 Software Engineering (PR: COM1102)
- COM3102 Computing Technologies in Web Applications (PR: COM1101/MSIM1201/COM2005)
- COM3103 Artificial Intelligence (PR: COM1101/MSIM1201/COM2005)
- COM3104 Mobile Computing (PR: COM1101/MSIM1201/COM2005)
- COM3106 Frontiers in Computing
- COM3107 Machine Learning Techniques and Applications (PR: COM1101/MSIM1201/COM2005)
Alternative scheme for students enrolled before AY2020/2021
For students admitted in AY2020/21 or before, they are also eligible to fulfill the requirements of Minor in Computing as stated in the following table.
