HSUHK Computing students ranked top 10% worldwide in Kotlin Heroes
Kotlin is a next-generation programming language developed by JetBrains and was first released in 2016. It is the fastest-growing language in recent years. In 2017, Google added Kotlin as an official programming language for Android development. Now, Kotlin is used by over 60% of professional Android developers.
Kotlin Heroes is the world’s largest Kotlin programming competition organized by JetBrains. The fifth Kotlin Heroes was held on November 12, 2020. Over 6,700 contestants include university students and industry professionals around the world. Contestants were required to solve nine challenging programming problems using Kotlin in two and a half hours. Our AHCC Year 2 student, Ma Man To, had an excellent performance in the competition and was ranked top 10% worldwide.
